COVID-19 Policies

Please read this page before booking your massage appointment.

MASK REQUIREMENT

Masks WILL be required for clients and for the massage therapist during your appointment at Birch Family Massage, regardless of vaccination status. A new, disposable mask is provided for you at your appointment. Any changes to this policy will be noted on this page.

SESSION PRECAUTIONS

  • When you arrive:

    • I give every client a new, disposable mask to wear.

    • We'll do a symptom check, and you'll wash your hands.

    • I have an informed consent form for you to sign (see waiver text at the bottom of this page).

  • In the studio:

    • I'm fully vaccinated for COVID-19, and I will also be wearing a mask.

    • HEPA air purifier, open windows, and HVAC system keep the air moving and treatment space ventilated.

ILLNESS / ​COVID GUIDELINES
24-hr Cancellation Policy is always waived for illness.
PLEASE FOLLOW ALL GUIDELINES BELOW, EVEN IF YOU ARE FULLY VACCINATED AND/OR HAVE TESTED NEGATIVE FOR COVID.
If you are sick or have any symptoms such as cough, sore throat, shortness of breath, fever, or other symptoms of illness:
  • Do not attend a massage session until 10 days have passed since symptoms first appeared AND you have been symptom-free for at least 24 hours without medication (even if you have tested negative for COVID). 

If you have tested positive for COVID:

  • Do not attend a massage session until 10 days have passed since symptoms first appeared AND you have been symptom-free for at least 24 hours without medication (please wait longer than 10 days if instructed to do so by a medical professional).

  • If you are vaccinated and not experiencing symptoms of illness after testing positive for COVID, please do not attend a massage session until 10 days after the positive test result.

If you have had close contact to someone who tested positive for COVID:

  • Do not attend a massage session until 10 days after the close contact AND you have not developed any symptoms (even if you have tested negative for COVID).

If someone in your household has tested positive for COVID or is quarantining due to COVID exposure:

  • Do not attend a massage session until that person's quarantine/isolation period is over AND you have not developed any symptoms (even if they have tested negative for COVID).

If a person in your household is sick or has symptoms of illness, but has not been diagnosed with COVID:

  • Do not attend a massage session until 10 days have passed since their symptoms first appeared AND the person has been symptom-free for at least 24 hours without medication AND you have not developed any symptoms (even if they have tested negative for COVID).

Informed Consent Waiver

I understand that close contact with people increases the risk of infection with COVID-19. By signing this form, I acknowledge that I am aware of the risks involved and give consent to receive massage from Kathleen Rhyne, OR LMT #20409.

I understand that if there is a positive COVID-19 case associated with Birch Family Massage, LLC, my contact information may be provided to the county or state health authority to assist with contact tracing.

I understand that Birch Family Massage, LLC has adopted required policy changes and recommended procedures from the Oregon Health Authority and the Oregon Board of Massage Therapists, and I will comply with these guidelines during my appointment (or choose to reschedule).

I will inform Birch Family Massage, LLC if I or anyone in my household is positively diagnosed with COVID-19.
