COVID-19 Updates

Please make sure you read and understand the new COVID-19 policies and waiver below before booking your massage appointment at the bottom of the page.

Before the Appointment:

  • Please do not make an appointment if you would answer ‘yes’ to any of these questions:

    • Have you had a new or worsening cough?

    • Have you had a fever?

    • Have you had shortness of breath?

    • Have you been in close contact with anyone with these symptoms or anyone who has been diagnosed with COVID-19 in the past 14 days?

You must wait to schedule an appointment until all of your symptoms have been resolved without medication for 72 hours. ​

  • Your appointment reminder email will also ask these questions, and if your answer has changed to a 'yes,' please login to reschedule your appointment. Click here to see appointment reminder example.

  • If you had contact with a person who was diagnosed with COVID-19, or who is sick with any of the symptoms above, you must wait 14 days before you schedule a massage appointment.

  • Do not make an appointment if you have attended any group gathering where social distancing was not possible. I ask that you please wait at least 14 symptom-free days to schedule a massage after you’ve attended a group gathering such as a family holiday celebration, a religious service without social distancing, or a protest event.

  • If you (or anyone in your household) are sick, please do not come in for your appointment, and stay home. Our Cancellation Policy is always waived due to illness—please wait until you (or the sick member of your household) have had at least 3 symptom-free days to come in for a massage.

At the Studio:

  • Please wait in your car until I come get you.

    • I'll give you a new disposable mask to wear; please leave your belongings in the car.

    • We'll do a temperature and symptom check, and you'll wash your hands.

    • I have an informed consent form for you to sign (see waiver text at the bottom of this page).

    • Water is not available in the studio. Please bring your own water bottle and leave it in your car.

  • I'm taking precautions to keep us safe.

    • I'm wearing a mask and clean apron for every session.​

    • HEPA air purifier, open windows, and HVAC system keep the air moving and treatment space ventilated.

    • Touchpoints are disinfected before every appointment (door/faucet handles, pens, chair).

    • I'm fully vaccinated for COVID-19, and masks are still required indoors at all times (even if you are vaccinated, too).

  • Prepayment is required for all sessions. If you have any questions, please email me.

  • New clients are welcome, and all session durations are available: 60-minute, 90-minute, and Pediatric. My bookings were previously limited due to COVID, but first-time clients are now able to book, and all session durations are on the calendar (Pediatric sessions are currently for clients 13 years or older, and will still require a mask for the session duration).

Informed Consent Waiver

I understand that close contact with people increases the risk of infection with COVID-19. By signing this form, I acknowledge that I am aware of the risks involved and give consent to receive massage from Kathleen Rhyne, OR LMT #20409.

I understand that if there is a positive COVID-19 case associated with Birch Family Massage, LLC, my contact information may be provided to the county or state health authority to assist with contact tracing.

I understand that Birch Family Massage, LLC has adopted required policy changes and recommended procedures from the Oregon Health Authority and the Oregon Board of Massage Therapists, and I will comply with these guidelines during my appointment (or choose to reschedule).

I will inform Birch Family Massage, LLC if I or anyone in my household is positively diagnosed with COVID-19.
