COVID/Sick Policies

RETURNING CLIENTS, please read this page before booking your massage appointment.

MASK POLICY

Although the state of Oregon lifted the indoor public mask mandate as of March 12, 2022, masks WILL be required after this date for clients and for the massage therapist during your appointment at Birch Family Massage (regardless of vaccination status).  Any changes to this policy will be noted on this page.

SESSION PRECAUTIONS

  • When you arrive:

    • I give every client a new surgical-style disposable mask to wear. If you prefer, you may bring and wear your own new, unused disposable surgical or KN95 mask.

    • We'll do a symptom check, and you'll wash your hands.

    • I have an informed consent form for you to sign at your first massage appointment that occurs after the COVID-19 pandemic started (click here to read waiver text).

  • In the studio:

    • I'm fully vaccinated + boosted for COVID-19, and I will be wearing two masks (the outer mask is changed after every massage session).

    • HEPA air purifier, open windows, and HVAC system keep the air moving and treatment space ventilated.

COVID & ILLNESS SYMPTOMS
If you or someone in your household is sick (Covid, cold, flu, etc.) or has had any symptoms in the past 5 days, please reschedule your appointment
Symptoms include: fever, sore throat, cough, runny nose, fatigue, allergy symptoms, or other Covid/illness symptoms.
NOTE: 24-hr Cancellation Policy is always waived for illness
 
Situation Guidelines
If you are sick or have any symptoms such as cough, sore throat, shortness of breath, fever, or other symptoms of illness:
  • Do not attend a massage session until 5 full days have passed since Day 1 of symptoms AND you have been symptom-free for at least 24 hours without medication (even if you have tested negative for COVID). 

If you have tested positive for COVID:

  • Do not attend a massage session until 5 full days have passed since Day 1 of symptoms AND you have been symptom-free for at least 24 hours without medication (please wait longer than this if instructed to do so by a medical professional). 

  • If you test positive for COVID but have no symptoms, please do not attend a massage session until 5 full days after the positive test result.

If you have had close contact to someone who tested positive for COVID:

  • Do not attend a massage session until 5 days after the close contact AND you have not developed any symptoms (even if you have tested negative for COVID).

If someone in your household has tested positive for COVID or is quarantining due to COVID exposure:

  • Do not attend a massage session until that person's quarantine/isolation period is over AND you have not developed any symptoms (even if they have tested negative for COVID).

If a person in your household is sick or has symptoms of illness, but has not been diagnosed with COVID:

  • Do not attend a massage session until 5 full days have passed since their symptoms first appeared AND the person has been symptom-free for at least 24 hours without medication (as long as you remain symptom-free).

  • If you develop any symptoms, do not attend a massage session until 5 full days have passed since Day 1 of your symptoms AND you are symptom-free for at least 24 hours without medication.
